
I am Tommaso Mancia, currently a researcher at eCampus University. I was born and raised in Ancona, where I still reside, and completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of the Marche. I also earned a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the same institution with a thesis on optimizing process parameters in metal additive manufacturing. I have published over 40 scientific articles and collaborate with institutions and companies to develop innovative solutions in the field of advanced manufacturing.
I carry out research in the scientific field of Technologies and Manufacturing Systems, with a particular focus on additive manufacturing processes, composite materials, and the environmental impacts of production processes. Specifically, the research has concentrated on additive technologies for metallic alloys, composite, and polymeric materials, mainly related to Material Extrusion and Stereolithography technologies, exploring the effect of process parameters on the mechanical properties of the manufactured parts. Research has also been conducted on the use of innovative techniques such as Robotic Automated Fiber Placement and ultrasonic welding for composite parts. My research also includes the environmental impact analysis of production processes through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC), with a focus on the use of waste materials and energy efficiency in additive manufacturing and composite processes.
