MARTA ROSSI

Marta Rossi obtained her PhD in Mechanical and Management Engineering at the Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2011 with a thesis entitled “Ecodesign methods and tools: development of integrated systems to promote sustainability in industrial companies”. Since October 2022 he has been Associate Professor in the disciplinary scientific sector IN-IND/15. The research activity is focused on the study and development of methods and tools for the design of eco-sustainable products and services. Attention is therefore directed to the identification of methods and tools integrated with those usually used in design, which support the designer in the design of environmentally sustainable products/processes/services.
The research takes place mainly within EU research projects, starting from FP7, national and regional projects. She is co-author of numerous scientific publications.

Her research activity is mainly focused on:

  • Study and development of methods and tools for product/process/service environmental sustainability in order to support the early design phases;
  • Study and development of knowledge-based methods and tools to support the design of low environmental impact products;
  • Assessment and quantification of product/process/service environmental sustainability through the application of Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and tools;
  • Sustainability traceability assessment of the supply chain
