GIANLUCA COCCIA

Gianluca Coccia is a PostDoc researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences of Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, AN, Italy), and a contract professor at eCampus University (Novedrate, CO, Italy). From Marche Polytechnic University, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 and his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 (both cum laude). In 2017, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the same University, discussing the thesis “Design, Manufacturing, Testing, and Mathematical Modeling of Concentrating Solar Systems: a Study Applied to Prototypes of Parabolic Trough Collector and Solar Box Cooker”.

La sua attività di ricerca, di tipo sia sperimentale che numerico, è incentrata sulle seguenti tematiche: solare termico (collettori parabolici assiali, forni solari, nanofluidi, materiali a cambiamento di fase); proprietà pressione-volume-temperatura di fluidi refrigeranti a ridotto GWP; modellazione matematica delle proprietà di trasporto dei fluidi (conducibilità termica, viscosità dinamica, tensione superficiale); equazioni di stato dei gas (equazione del viriale, temperatura di Boyle); gestione della domanda dell’energia.È coautore di circa 30 pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali indicizzate.

His research activity, both experimental and numerical, is related to: solar thermal engineering (parabolic trough collectors, solar cookers, nanofluids, phase change materials); PVT (pressure-volume-temperature) properties of low-GWP refrigerants; mathematical modeling of transport properties of fluids (thermal conductivity, dynamic viscosity, surface tension); equations of state of gases (virial equation of state, Boyle temperature); energy demand management. He is coauthor of about 30 papers published in indexed international journals.
